Happy Thanksgiving!

In observance of Thanksgiving, the Chippewa Cree Tribe's Human Services Division will be closed Thursday November 22 and Friday November 23, 2012. We would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday! We will be open for business on Monday November 26, 2012 and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

CHIPPEWA CREE TRIBE LAUNCHES SEX OFFENDER REGISTRY

The Chippewa Cree Tribe's Human Services Division, Law Enforcement Services Department and Office of the Attorney General are proud to announce the launch of the Chippewa Cree Tribe's Sexual Offender Registry website.

The Sexual Offender Registry website is the culmination of 2+ years worth of planning and hard work on the part of many Chippewa Cree Tribal Departments.

The website can be found at http://chippewacree.nsopw.gov.

The information provided on the public web-site is provided for the benefit of the members of the Chippewa Cree Tribe in order to promote the health, safety, and welfare of the community.

The information on the web-site is provided and maintained by the Chippewa Cree Tribal Police Department. If any of the information contained on the public web-site is false, or believed to be false, then you are instructed to contact Chippewa Cree Tribal Police Department at (406) 395-4513 to seek a correction of the information believed to be false. The Police Department will then make any changes necessary to ensure that the information is accurate and up-to-date.

You are also instructed that the information contained on the web-site should not be used to unlawfully injure, harass, or commit a crime against any individual named in the registry or residing or working at any reported address. If you choose to disregard this warning, such action could subject you to both civil and criminal penalties under the Chippewa Cree Law & Order Code.

PUBLIC NOTICE

The Chippewa Cree Tribe will select up to 150 individuals to participate in a summer training program beginning June 4, 2012 and ending on September 7, 2012. Program participants will have the opportunity to attend Stone Child College and engage in educational seminars, perform civil service projects, and shadow various departments that fit their interests. All participants will be paid a stipend.

Applications will be available on May 18, 2012 at the TERO Office located at the Old Stone Child College Building (lower level). You can reach them at (406) 395-5275. Or you can pick them up at Stone Child College, (406) 395-4875. Please see Denise Potter, Phyllis Parker or Wanda St. Marks at the College for applications.

All prospective participants must submit completed applications on May 31, 2012 at 4:30 PM to be qualified for the training program.

Eligibility Requirements:
- 18 years or older;
- Enrolled member of the Chippewa Cree Tribe; and
- Two (2) forms of identification must be submitted with completed applications.
